If your child ever thought about being the next Ava Duvernay or Spike Lee, the Film production program BEYOND THE LENS ACADEMY,  is accepting applications for their inaugural program for High School Juniors and Seniors. The Rhode Island Black Film Festival created the Beyond the Lens Academy  to meet the growing need of video production personnel for the growing number of films productions in Rhode Island and Southern New England. Our Film Festival allows for filmmakers and film lovers to connect who want to make the most of the Festival Experience. Interviews with Festival Directors, Programmers and Award-Winning Filmmakers will offer insights on how festivals are managed; how films are chosen; and what a filmmaker should do once her or his film is selected.
